Why do capsules and dried shrooms take so long to work?

How digestion works: When you swallow anything – food, medicine, vitamins, etc - it drops into your stomach. Your stomach is filled hydrochloric acid. Strong stuff! So strong that the stomach lining is impermeable, meaning you don’t absorb anything through your stomach. Nutrients and medicines have to leave the stomach and travel to the small intestine before they are absorbed into the bloodstream. That’s why it takes time before you feel the effects of swallowed pills, dried mushrooms, and gummies.
Taking your microdose with food can help increase absorption. Taking one capsule, waiting 15 minutes and then taking 2-3 more capsules will Not aid absorption. It will just make you too high in an hour and a half.
People using GLP-1 / semaglutide drugs (Ozempic, Mounjaro, Wegovy, Trulicity, etc) for weight loss have much slower digestion which can delay the onset of swallowed mushrooms for up to 6-8 hours. We recommend these people take doses at bedtime and see how they feel in the morning.
